Egyptian Football Association Visits Suez Canal Authority and Praises its Latest World-Class Sports Facilities

Adm. Ossama Rabiee, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), has received today Mr. Gamal Allam, President of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), along with EFA board members. The delegation was received at the SCA new Stadium by a number of the SCA leading officials as well as the Stadium's administration and operation committee.

Among the visiting delegation were Mr. Khaled El-Darandaly, EFA Vice President, Gen. Mohamed Helmy Mashhour, Mr. Mohamed Abo El-Wafa, Dr. Ehab El-Komy and Dr. Dina El-Refaei, and this is the EFA's first visit to get a closer look at the potential and facilities of the SCA's new Stadium.

In the beginning, Adm. Rabiee welcomed the delegation members at the Stadium which represents the latest additions to the Olympic Village establishments reflecting the SCA's keenness on supporting the governmental efforts of developing Egyptian sports infrastructure and continuing its social role in the Canal region.

His Excellency emphasized the Stadium's readiness to host local and international sports events thanks to its features that enable it to receive training camps for national teams and youth football teams thanks to its unique location at the heart of Ismailia.

During their visit, board members of the EFA listened to a detailed presentation on the Olympic Village features and the Stadium's master plan that is in line with the FIFA, CAF and EFA requirements; as it is built on an area of 80,000 m2 and can hold up to approximately 21 thousand spectators.

The delegation then went ahead to inspect various parts of the Stadium like: the pitch, the main stand, the players' changing rooms, the rest of the spectators' stands, the conference rooms, the commentator booths, the youth football academy, the administrative zone and other facilities in the Stadium.

Mr. Gamal Allam expressed his pride in the establishment of such an Egyptian sports edifice and praised the world-class design and technical equipment of the Stadium which enable it to host important events. He also pointed out that CAF has appointed a committee to accredit the SCA new Stadium as per its standards before the end of this month.

At the end of that visit, Adm. Rabiee and Mr. Allam exchanged commemorative shields of their respective organizations and then the delegation went on a sea tour of the New Suez Canal.
